Itinerary

Itinerary: Lares Trek 4 Days / 3 Nights

Day 1: Cusco – Calca – Lares Hot Springs – Waka Wasi

We begin our adventure with a journey to Calca, where we will explore the local market and discover regional products. We then continue to the famous Lares Hot Springs, a perfect place to relax before starting our hike. After enjoying these healing waters, we will begin the trek to Waka Wasi (3,750 m.a.s.l.), our first campsite.

Day 2: Waka Wasi – Ipsaycocha Pass – Patacancha

The day starts with a nutritious breakfast to prepare for the challenge of crossing Ipsaycocha Pass (4,450 m.a.s.l.), the highest point of the route. Here, you will enjoy spectacular views of Ipsaycocha Lagoon and the surrounding mountain landscapes. After lunch near the lagoon, we continue towards the town of Patacancha, where we will camp surrounded by nature.

Day 3: Patacancha – Willoq – Puma Marca – Ollantaytambo – Aguas Calientes

This day takes us to the charming town of Willoq, where you will have the opportunity to learn about local traditions and customs. Then, we will visit the archaeological site of Puma Marca, a historical gem. We will continue to Ollantaytambo for lunch before boarding the train to Aguas Calientes, where we will spend the night in a comfortable accommodation.

Day 4: Aguas Calientes – Machu Picchu – Cusco

The most anticipated day. Early in the morning, we will take the bus to the Machu Picchu Sanctuary, where we will explore this incredible site with a professional guide. You will have free time to explore on your own before returning to Aguas Calientes for lunch and taking the train to Ollantaytambo, followed by the bus back to Cusco.
